You Won't BELIEVE what happened at the MET Gala Week
The Third One is a Shocker
Petition to include Indian Paps at the Met (Cause Americans clearly can’t cut it)
Shah Rukh Khan’s Met Gala debut - His met gala debut was more than a fashion statement, it was a symbolic representation of India’s rise amongst global pop culture. The cherry on top - Shah Rukh Khan arrived in a Sabyasachi creation, one of the most eminent Indian designers known for his deep rooted cultural pieces & designs highlighting the Indian craftsmanship. His look was elevated with statement jewelry, including a bold "K" pendant, layered chains, and a regal cane as a detail that subtly referenced old-world nobility. It was a testament to India’s cultural power entering spaces historically dominated by western celebrities.
What hurt was Sabyasachi had to also explain to two clueless interviewers that SRK is one of the greatest actors to live. Dear American, there is more world outside your 50 states. If Indian paps can scream “Jendeya“, you can at least mispronounce Shah Rukh Khan.
Other Indian celebrities gracing the occasion were - Kiara Advani, Isha Ambani and Priyanka Chopra to name a few.
The stars at the Met were Indian - LITERALLY 🌟
The blue star carpet featured at the 2025 Met Gala was a remarkable example of Kerala's rich weaving heritage, crafted by Neytt, a design house based in Cherthala, Alappuzha. It took 90 days to complete and was made by 480 artisans.
Neytt's involvement in the Met Gala underscores Kerala's prominence in the global textile industry, showcasing the state's dedication to preserving traditional old-school weaving techniques while embracing sustainable practices.
This marks a big step forward in globalizing and crediting Traditional Indian family - run craftsmanship on a larger scale garnering its anticipated visibility.

Indian artists being denied Cartier jewels belonging to Indian Nobles 💎
Diljit Dosanjh was denied the iconic Patiala necklace worn by Emma Chamberlain at the 2022 Met, belonging to Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala himself.
So why was an Indian historic jewelry piece denied to an Indian artist representing the country - was it because of the deep rooted colonial disposition or power play for who’s worthy enough to wear it.
Diljit’s look payed cultural homage, enticing to the eye and regal to look at- with the Punjabi turban, a sword as a symbol resistance and a Gurumukhi scripted cape highlighting Traditional nobility. Diljit looked nothing apart from royalty with everything tied together perfectly, but only one thing missing-the actual Patiala necklace.
